Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter (softened)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

For the frosting (optional) : 

  • 1/2 cup butter (softened)
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1–2 tablespoons milk

Optional :

  • Colorful sprinkles
  • Chocolate chips
  • Fresh berries

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a cupcake tray with paper liners.
  2. In a bowl, mix the butter and sugar until light and creamy.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, then mix well.
  4. Add the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Pour in the milk and mix until the batter becomes smooth.
  6. Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full with batter.
  7. Bake for 12–15 minutes until the cupcakes are golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let the cupcakes cool completely before adding frosting.
